Porch & Parish invites all 9th-12th-grade students enrolled for the 2022-23 school year who reside in Zachary, Louisiana to participate in the Growing Up essay contest for a chance to have their essay published in the August 2022 edition of Porch & Parish Magazine. The winner will also have the option to select a school supply basket or have their school supply fee for the 2022-23 school year paid for by Porch & Parish.

The essay topic is "Why is growing up in Zachary excellent?" with a maximum word count of 350. Submissions will be accepted from Friday, June 17 to Friday, July 8. Students are encouraged to be specific about the people and traditions that have positively impacted their experience growing up in Zachary.

Please email submissions along with the student's name, their school for the 2022-23 school year and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) name(s) and phone number to [email protected].

The winner will be selected and notified the week of July 11, 2022. All essays submitted will be published online at porchandparish.com following magazine publication.

The Growing Up edition of Porch & Parish is dedicated to highlighting people and businesses that make Zachary an excellent place to grow up. The publication will be mailed directly to 10,000 Zachary residents and available in more than a dozen racks across the city in early August 2022.
