Get ready, wing enthusiasts! Charley Quinn, a Zachary newcomer with a knack for frying up some heavenly chicken wings, has launched his home-based food business, Wings With Charley. Inspired by his fiancé, Amber Cosey, and mentored by his Wingstop leader, Oscar Herrera, Charley has turned his passion for cooking into a thriving local enterprise.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charley is originally from New Orleans, and moved to Baton Rouge just before Katrina hit. Charley always had a flair for cooking, whether it was at Wingstop, where he learned the ins and outs of wing preparation, or later at Hooters, he always found a way to hone his culinary craft. However, it wasn't until meeting Amber that he began to think of making his wing wizardry a full-fledged business.

The fryers sizzle from 12 PM to 8 PM, Friday to Sunday.  On a typical week, Charley goes through three 40-lb cases of chicken. His passion for his craft is evident, “When you do what you love,” he says, “it doesn't feel like work.” Charley's personal favorites are his classic Lemon Pepper and, for a spicy twist, the Hot Lemon Pepper. The crowd pleasers? Bourbon BBQ and classic Hot wings, with a side of their popular Bourbon BBQ Ranch Fries or Cajun Cheese Fries.

Charley hopes to soon expand his operation to a food truck, and hopefully later a restaurant here in Zachary. So far, he’s received nothing but Raves on some of the harshest Facebook groups, so we feel pretty confident that he can make that dream come true.
