Kathy says that Alaska did not disappoint. "The entire trip was top notch. Everything was planned perfectly, and the majesty of Alaska was everything we had hoped for." The couple especially enjoyed visiting the Athabascan Indian Village. "It was so interesting hearing the native indigenous people talk about their culture and way of life. As a retired history and geography teacher, I would have loved to share this trip with my students."

Other stand outs from the trip were a fully narrated cruise on the authentic sternwheeler, Discovery III, along the Chena and Tanana rivers. And of course, you can't go to Alaska without panning for gold. "So much fun and there's gold still there!" The excursions also included a mid-day cruise aboard the Klondike Express, a luxury catamaran, visiting the largest concentration of glaciers in Alaska. "The glacier tour was just fabulous. The weather temperatures were in the 40's, 50's, and 60's. There was some drizzling rain, but that didn't affect us."

"I would highly recommend the Alaska Land tour. Several people talked about going back and flying into Anchorage and going into Denali, to stay 3 or 4 days there. Once you've been there, it's one of those places that you want to go back to."
