Choosing the Destination

For Amy and her family, the decision to embark on a Disney Cruise was an easy one. With her mother's love for cruising and her desire to create new memories after her mother's stroke, Amy knew that a Disney Cruise would be the perfect choice. "My mom used to love to go on cruises when my dad was alive," Amy explains, "and had gone on some with friends as well.  I wanted to take her on a trip. This was her first trip since her stroke. She picked a Disney Cruise with me and my daughter."

Fun Fact: Amy says that they were on same boat as Josh and Kala DiBenedetto and their family - also from Zachary!

Exceeding Expectations

Disney is synonymous with exceptional service and unforgettable experiences, and their cruise line is no exception. Amy was delighted to find that the Disney Cruise exceeded her expectations in every way. "Anything Disney you expect great service and good times. They lived up to it," Amy shares. "The food was great and there was tons of stuff to do. But what I was really surprised about was the amount of adult activities to take advantage of. There’s even a large kid-free zone on the main deck."

Words of Wisdom

When it comes to cruising, Amy has some valuable advice to share. "I loved traveling out of New Orleans because after being on the ship for 7 nights, the last thing I would have wanted to do is go to the airport and get on a plane," she reveals. "However, I do think cruising out of Port Canaveral offers some better destinations. I would definitely recommend a cabin with a verandah, especially on a long cruise."

A Family-Friendly Experience

One of the highlights of a Disney Cruise is its family-friendly atmosphere, catering to guests of all ages. "Family-friendly for all ages," Amy affirms. "We saw a lot of extended families on the ship with things to do for all ages and then they could all come together for dinner or other times."

If your family is dreaming of a magical getaway filled with adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories, a Disney Cruise checks all those boxes!
