The City of Zachary actively engaged in the Love The Boot Litter Pick-up campaign! In just over 45 minutes, our community rallied to collect over 49 garbage bags of litter in our city. 

Sponsored by Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the Love The Boot initiative is Louisiana’s premier litter cleanup and beautification endeavor. 

 

Special thank you to Walmart Zachary for their generous donation of Gatorade, water and snacks for our volunteers. 

Following our collective cleanup, Zachary City Employees enjoyed a special lunch featuring boiled shrimp, generously donated by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. 

If you couldn’t make it today, fret not! You have another opportunity to join the cause. This Saturday, at 10 a.m., the second litter clean-up kicks off at CC’s Coffee Shop on Hwy. 64. 

If you can't make it to that clean up, there's still a way for you to help keep Louisiana beautiful. Individuals can check out a litter cleaning kit from the Zachary Branch Library.   Each kit includes 24 litter grabbers, 24 high visibility safety vests, large garbage bags and bottles of hand sanitizer.

So get out there and pick up that trash!
