City of Zachary Launches TextMyGov: New Text Alert and Messaging Service

May 13, 2024 11:20AM ● By Lauren Pope

The City of Zachary is proud to announce the launch of TextMyGov, a new text alert and messaging service designed to keep residents up-to-date with crucial local updates. Starting the week of May 13th, residents can expect timely notifications about road closures, emergencies, holiday schedules, garbage collection, and other relevant updates directly on their phones.

To ensure updates are meaningful, TextMyGov will only send texts when necessary. Residents will continue to receive general updates through existing channels like social media, the city website, and email newsletters.

Residents looking to opt-in to these alerts can text "ZACHARY" to 91896. After texting, you'll receive a prompt to reply with "YES" to confirm receiving notifications. To discontinue the service, simply text "STOP."

Additionally, TextMyGov facilitates direct communication with city services through another convenient feature. By texting keywords such as "news," "trash," or "water" to 225-681-8898, residents can report issues like broken water lines or power outages. Initiate this service by texting "Hi" to 225-681-8898.

For those ready to opt-in for city alerts, text "ZACHARY" to 91896. If you need immediate assistance or want to report an issue, text "Hi" to 225-681-8898. For more information, visit City of Zachary's TextMyGov page.
