Tech Tuesday: Effortlessly Plan Weekly Summer Meals with GPT-4o

Are you stuck in a meal rut? Summer can be a hard time for meal planning because the kids are home all day (and thus, want to eat all day) and turning on the oven makes things HOT.
As much as we might like to just give up and eat some cereal, you can't exactly support a family exclusively on Frosted Flakes and Apple Jacks. Thankfully, AI has made it easy to create a weekly meal plan for your family.
Since GPT4 is now free for everyone, that's what we'll be using to demonstrate how to make this all work.
First, if you
\haven't already, head over to ChatGPT and create an account. Once you've done that, you'll see a pop up telling you that you have access to GPT 4o. Click try it now!

The last step is to ask for the recipe instructions for each meal.

Next, you'll want to give it a prompt. I've found that this all works best if you have some sort of theme. You might say "Please make a meal plan and shopping list for 7 easy summer dinners" or "Please make a meal plan and shopping list for 7 summer dinners from The Pioneer Woman."
I'm going to use that last one for this demonstration.

The last step is to ask for the recipe instructions for each meal.

Voila! A week of meals, planned in under 5 minutes. Now, if you want to get more complicated with your planning, that's possible too. For example, you can ask for meals that utilize left-overs or repeated ingredients.
My next plan is to ask it to give me a snack plan that will keep the snack train rolling all week instead of us burning through them all by Wednesday. Wish me luck!
