Zachary Church of Christ Enhances Community Landmark Through Service Project

The City of Zachary extends its sincere appreciation to the Zachary Church of Christ for
their outstanding efforts in a recent community service initiative. Demonstrating
dedication, teamwork, and community spirit, members of the church volunteered their
time and resources to revitalize the city’s beloved gazebo at the corner of Rollins Road
and Main Street.
The group meticulously pressure-washed, repaired, and painted the gazebo, enhancing
its appearance and extending its life for public enjoyment. In addition, volunteers
applied a wood preservative to the carved eagle sculpture in the area, protecting it from
sun damage and restoring its original beauty.
“On behalf of the residents of Zachary, we salute these members who came together to
beautify our city,” said Mayor David McDavid. “Their commitment to service is a shining
example of community pride and faith in action.”
The city also extends a special thank-you to Sherwin-Williams of Zachary for generously
donating the paint used in the project.
“Our faith in Christ our Savior leads us to a spirit of love, just as He loved us,” said
members of the Zachary Church of Christ. “We believe that love is an action. This small
project is, we hope, the first of many efforts to show our love for this community and the
people in it.”
This partnership between the city and the Zachary Church of Christ reflects a shared
vision of unity, service, and civic responsibility—values that strengthen the bonds of the
Zachary community.
