WBRZ to Feature Zachary in a Weeklong Series

Have you noticed news cameras around town in the past couple of weeks?
Zachary’s own news anchor, April Davis, together with her team at WBRZ, is working on a series spotlighting Zachary. The "2 Your Town" segment on WBRZ is community-focused content, highlighting upcoming events and new and existing businesses.
“We will air stories all week, August 4-8. The 8th is the big day for our “2 Your Town” – we are live Friday morning and evening from BREC’s Zachary Community Park for the Really Hot Air Balloon Festival,” Davis says. On that day, tune in to 2une In from 5-9 a.m. as well as the 4, 5, and 6 p.m. newscasts on WBRZ.
Leading up to the live coverage, segments will highlight some local favorites, including the new location of The Pilates House, and Little Town Zachary.
LTZ owner Janelle Strahan posted earlier this week on Facebook: “Right before opening today, I received a call from WBRZ Channel 2 asking if I’d be willing to do an interview with them for an upcoming feature in August. They arrived only a couple of hours later, and the cameras started rolling! I am beyond thankful to have had a wonderful group of parents + kids there who embraced it! The kids played, some moms were interviewed, and we all got through it together!”
Courtney Stalder, owner of The Pilates House, says she received a similar call from a WBRZ reporter named Lauren, who stopped by later. "She couldn't keep herself away from the reformer, so of course we had to work out! She did great, and we had so much fun," Stalder says. "I'm really honored that they wanted to do a story on my little business. The Pilates House is a dream I've had since college, and it blows my mind that it's so successful. I have to give thanks to all the wonderful people who keep showing up for the dream," Stalder says.
Other segments will also feature the new Lane Regional Medical Center patient tower, the Zachary Community School District, as well as iconic Teddy’s Juke Joint and the Zachary Historic District.
WBRZ news anchor Sylvia Weatherspoon was also out at the Depot Diner earlier this week filming a segment with owner Pam Leavy. The City's Public Information Officer Sharon Phillips stopped by to meet Weatherspoon. "It was such a pleasure meeting WBRZ Anchor Sylvia Weatherspoon today at the Zachary Depot while she was filming a segment on the upcoming Really Hot Air Balloon Festival! I’ve always admired her grace and professionalism—and she’s just as warm and kind in person as she is on the air. It was also great to catch up with her husband, Donald—we worked together for years at City-Parish Government. A wonderful visit all around!" Phillips posted on social media.

Be sure to follow WBRZ on social media–you’re sure to spot some familiar faces and places! And thank you to April Davis and WBRZ for bringing positive attention to Zachary!
