St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School is excited to announce that Sharon Couvillion has joined the school as its new Director. With more than 18 years of experience in early childhood education, Couvillion brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and passion for fostering the growth and success of every child in her care.

A graduate of South Louisiana Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Couvillion went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies with a concentration in Behavioral Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her professional philosophy is built on the belief that children can achieve any goal when provided with the right blend of support, education, and love.

Before stepping into her role at St. Patrick’s, Couvillion was a beloved Kindergarten teacher at Great Hearts Harveston, where her students and colleagues will greatly miss her warmth and expertise. Her career also includes serving as Assistant Director at St. Aloysius Child Care Center and as Manager and Pre-K Teacher at Gateway. During her tenure at Gateway, she was named Preschool Teacher of the Year in Ascension Parish for the 2017–2018 school year, an honor voted on by local business owners. Additionally, she has served as an independent Louisiana Pathways certified trainer for Early Learning Center Licensing Regulations.

Outside of her professional life, Couvillion lives in south Baton Rouge with her husband, son, and their two dogs. She enjoys fishing, gardening, and traveling, and is eager to bring her energy and enthusiasm to the St. Patrick’s community.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know all the wonderful children, parents, staff, and vestry here,” Couvillion said. “It’s an honor to be part of such a welcoming and dedicated school family.”

With her proven leadership and lifelong commitment to early education, St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School is confident that Couvillion will guide the school into an exciting new chapter of growth and learning.
