Join EBRPL as we team up with Louisiana Wild Society to Re-Wild the Library on Saturday, November 8, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. We will be planting a new, large-scale native plant pollinator garden at the Main Library at Goodwood, and we need your help!

Throughout the day, you will:

• Learn about the plants and the pollinators they support

• Get hands-on planting experience and learn root-pruning techniques

• Visit the Seed Library and take home seeds to start your own garden

• Participate in garden workshops, crafts, and activities for all ages (plus a yoga flashmob!)

• Connect with community partners including Wild Ones of Greater Baton Rouge, Master

Naturalists, Baton Roots, and more!

• Shop for native plants from Helping Hands Nursery and Rotglow Farm or “adopt” a plant with

Louisiana Wild Society

• Enjoy coffee and refreshments for purchase from House Brew Coffee and S.A.B.s Snowballs

Kids ages 3-11 are invited to an immersive cultural experience with Mandarin-Chinese story time! Learn songs, stories, and rhymes in one of the most-spoken languages in the world at the Main Library at Goodwood on Mondays, November 3, 10 & 17 at 6:30 p.m. The 30-minute-long Mandarin story time, offered by the Foreign Language Immersion Magnet (FLAIM) Mandarin program, features a carefully curated selection of authentic Chinese picture books catering to various language proficiency levels. Saturday Science continues this fall at the Main Library at Goodwood! Join us on Saturday, November 1 at 1 p.m. for a presentation by LSU’s Dr. Michelle L. Osborn on “The 3D Dynamic Horse and Rider: Models for Understanding Form, Function, and Failure.” Teens and their families are invited to join us this fall on the first Saturday of each month for LSU’s free public talk series designed to connect teens to science and technology through engaging presentations on a variety of current topics.

Children ages 5-11 are invited to Shakespeare in the Library at the Delmont Gardens Branch Library on Saturday, November 8 at 10 a.m. This interactive program will both entertain and teach children all about Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, Hamlet.
