The Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary has announced the launch of the 3rd Annual Louisiana’s Most Courteous Teachers Recognition Program, a statewide initiative honoring educators who demonstrate exceptional courtesy, kindness, and positive influence in the lives of young people.

The program will officially kick off Monday, March 16, and nominations and essay submissions will be accepted through April 17.

The recognition program seeks to identify and celebrate Louisiana’s Most Courteous Teachers—educators who model kindness, patience, respect, and positive character while shaping the lives of students.

Nominations are open to any instructor who teaches or mentors youth in Louisiana, including classroom teachers, tutors, music and dance instructors, sports coaches, arts instructors, instructors in church programs, and educators working in day schools, childcare centers, dance studios, music programs, sports teams, and other extracurricular learning environments.

Nominations may be submitted by students, parents, former students, colleagues, or community members who wish to recognize an educator who has made a meaningful impact.

This year the program is expanding its recognition efforts by awarding monetary prizes to top honorees, along with commemorative awards and gifts.

An optional essay contest invites participants to share stories about how a teacher has influenced their lives through kindness, encouragement, and respect. Essay winners will be recognized and receive prizes and awards.

To help expand recognition for outstanding educators, the Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary is seeking business and individual sponsors. Sponsorship support allows the program to increase awards for honorees, including monetary prizes, commemorative awards, and other forms of recognition celebrating Louisiana’s Most Courteous Teachers. Community sponsorship plays an important role in ensuring that educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of young people receive meaningful recognition. Business and individual sponsors will be acknowledged and featured based on sponsorship level in materials and social media. Sponsorship levels begin at $50.

Formerly conducted by Louisiana State Cotillion, the program has now been gifted to the Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary. Louisiana State Cotillion remains actively involved in supporting, assisting, and promoting the program.
