Nine area students received awards and recognition at the recent Louisiana State Cotillion Spring Ball and Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary’s Cotillion Court Ceremony, events celebrating character, leadership, and social excellence among youth participants.

Carson Southall and Kailyn Jefferson, both of Zachary High School, were named Teen King and Queen. Avia Faciane of Copper Mill Elementary was elected Jr. Queen, and Payton Roy of Fellowship Christian Academy was honored as Jr. King. These students were selected by their peers for consistently demonstrating the virtues of respect, courtesy, leadership, and integrity—hallmarks of the cotillion program.

Kowen Thornton of Zachary High School and Olivia Fontana of Copper Mill Elementary were recognized as Best Dancers Overall, as selected by parents and guests in attendance.
Evangeline Southall and Ethan Morgan, both of Copper Mill Elementary, were winners of the Cinderella Dance, earning top honors by locating their secret partner and properly executing the waltz.

Miss Ruby Gehling of Zachary High School was also recognized as the Senior Debuteen during the Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary’s Cotillion Court Ceremony, exemplifying grace, poise, integrity, and distinguished character as she graduates the program and takes her place in society.

The Louisiana State Cotillion, in partnership with the Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary, provides young people with opportunities to develop confidence, character, and social awareness through structured instruction and formal events. Through the Louisiana Cotillion Auxiliary, participants also engage in community awareness initiatives, service opportunities, and leadership development.
