Empower Yourself: Ladies-Only Self-Defense Program Launches at Zachary Martial Arts

Oct 10, 2024 10:58AM ● By Lauren Pope
Zachary Martial Arts is offering a ladies only self-defense program starting October 18th.

"We're offering a free seminar on the 18th at 6:30 to kick off the program," says owner Michael Cloonan. After that, the program will run weekly on Fridays at 6:30.

The program will focus on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu style self-defense techniques taught by a female instructor. It is open to all women and teenage girls aged 13+.

Zachary Martial Arts is a member of Gracie United and already has the largest women's Jiu Jitsu program in the south. While this new program will focus on the self-defense aspect of the sport, students can enroll in the more competitive classes as they develop skills and interest.

"Gracie United Jiu-Jitsu is a unique program that truly teaches self-defense for the real world. Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, this reality-based system is designed to teach real self-defense in the shortest possible time.

These are many of the same strategies that police officers use when in a threatening situation.

But there is one more important detail to add to this: It’s crazy fun!!!"
