When’s the last time you felt like you’ve discovered something brand-new in Zachary, something that filled you with surprise and delight? For me, it was just at the beginning of October, when the Gafford family transformed the space behind Virginia Street Snowballs into what felt like the set of a Hallmark movie. The rustic barn and pumpkin patch, the bluegrass band, the vendors selling candy apples–never have I ever been so charmed!
That’s what our feature story, Hidden Gems, is all about. And no, they’re not exactly “hidden,” but they’re all gems in their own right. We hope you find something that delights you, whatever your interests may be.
And, speaking of delight, we’ve also put together a holiday guide that starts with the simple joy of Halloween at home and carries right on through Thanksgiving and Christmas—nostalgia, comfort, and old-fashioned fun included.
And because no season of celebration would be complete without a little wisdom from the people who make this community so special, we’ve invited a few local experts to share their thoughts on the holidays—how to find meaning in the season, keep faith at the center, and make space for what truly matters.
Wishing you and yours nothing short of magic, merriment, and miracles this wonderful holiday season!
