The Americana YMCA presents Menopausium: Strong through the Shift

Jul 07, 2026 03:25PM ● By Press Release

Hot flashes, sleepless nights, mood changes, weight gain, brain fog—menopause can bring a wide range of physical and emotional changes, yet many women feel unprepared for what to expect. In fact, more than one million women in the United States enter menopause each year, and symptoms can begin years before menopause itself during a stage known as perimenopause. While every woman's experience is different, one thing is universal: understanding what's happening to your body can make a significant difference in managing the transition.

That's why the Americana YMCA is inviting women to "Stay Strong in the Shift," a morning dedicated to education, support, and wellness on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. Attendees will hear from local healthcare experts, connect with wellness vendors, enjoy giveaways, and learn practical strategies for navigating menopause with confidence.

Featured speakers include Dr. Keith Elbourne, OBGYN with Lane Regional Medical Center; Taylor Mahtook, PA-C and Certified Menopause Specialist; registered dietitian Melissa Campbell; and pelvic physical therapy specialist Amber Anderson. Admission is free for YMCA members and $20 for community members.
