The Doods of Summer

Some neighborhoods have unofficial mayors, or welcome wagons. Americana has Goldendoodles. They're the self-appointed squirrel patrol, the fluffballs hanging out of golf carts, and the reason your evening walk takes twice as long as expected. They know every pond, every trail, and every family who carries treats in their pocket. And they know where the other doodles live.

In honor of National Dog Day in August, we decided to get to know these canine Muppets. If they had dating profiles, what would they say? Who's the clingy one? Who's looking for adventure? Who secretly thinks they're a Chihuahua despite weighing more than a teenager?

We asked their families to spill the tea on their neighborhood’s most popular breed. Flip through at your own risk.
