Apr 26, 2024 03:59PM ● By Lauren Pope
Since their first show in July 2023, the Southland Band has taken EBRP by storm, and they’re not slowing down! Known for their electrifying blend of old-school rock and country, this dynamic group has been rocking venues across the parish every weekend. Now, they're gearing up for their next big gig—and you won’t want to miss it!

Join the Southland Band on April 27, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the South Plains Food Co., where they'll be bringing their signature energy and crowd-pleasing tunes to an unforgettable evening of music and fun.

At the heart of the band is Carson Vineyard an 18-year-old drumming prodigy who started his journey on rhythm guitar before finding his rhythm behind the kit. Carson’s passion for music is evident whether he's laying down a solid backbeat or strumming acoustic melodies at smaller gigs.

Jack Howell, the bassist, might have been a latecomer to music, but he’s quickly become the glue holding the band’s rhythm section together. At 21, Jack does more than just play; he’s integral in hauling and setting up gear, ensuring every show goes off without a hitch.

Jake Rounds, another 18-year-old, is the voice of Southland. His powerful vocals and guitar playing were too good to pass up after being spotted on Facebook. Balancing his music with high school, Jake is a true performer, captivating audiences with every note.

Kev Kirkland, although often away due to work, still contributes heavily as the rhythm guitarist and former lead singer. His setlist wizardry helps shape every show, adding depth and continuity to their performances.

The band was founded by Hudson Hooge, a 20-year-old lead guitarist with a vision. Hudson not only plays in Southland but also manages bass duties in another band, showcasing his musical flexibility and leadership.

Behind the scenes, Abby Haddox and Evan Gardner are the unsung heroes. Abby handles the finances and merch, while Evan ensures that every gig sounds perfect. Plus, thanks to Vineyard Boutique, the band always looks as sharp as they sound.

Don’t miss your chance to see the Southland Band live at South Plains Food Co. on April 27th at 6 PM. With their unique sound, infectious energy, and a lineup of passionate musicians, it’s guaranteed to be a night to remember. Come out, enjoy some great music, and support local talent as they continue to make their mark on the Zachary music scene!
