Zachary Police Department Revamps Fleet with Over 50 New Vehicles

Jun 17, 2024 01:54PM ● By Lauren Pope

The Zachary Police Department has recently acquired a new fleet of police vehicles as part of an effort to update and maintain their law enforcement resources. Thanks to a partnership with Enterprise Fleet Management, more than 50 new vehicles are replacing an aging fleet that averaged 13 years in age. The new vehicles are expected to significantly reduce maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency.

The updated fleet includes various models from manufacturers such as Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge, ensuring a range of vehicles suited for different police duties. For instance, the Chevrolet Blazer EV AWD, which was tested for its performance capabilities, showed impressive acceleration and braking metrics, making it a valuable addition for high-speed pursuits and urban patrolling (Police Magazine) (Gov Fleet).

This modernization effort not only helps in managing costs but also enhances the safety and reliability of the vehicles used by city employees, ultimately contributing to better public safety services (E-Fleets).
