New restaurant to open downtown
Aug 09, 2024 02:09PM ● By Jen GennaroExciting development in downtown Zachary! A local family of restaurateurs has purchased the LLC in place at the historic Train Depot from David Gaines. The deal was signed earlier this week, shortly after Roly Poly vacated.
As it stands, the Depot is on an extended lease with the City of Zachary. The lease agreement was initially with short-lived bbq restaurant, Mavericks, who did a great job improving the property.
Last year, Gaines purchased the LLC from the proprietor of Mavericks, and then joined with Roly Poly.
Despite having a great product and steady following, the owners of Roly Poly became busy with their other businesses and church, and quietly packed up shop about two weeks ago.
The new owners have full use of the depot, c-can containing kitchen equipment, rooftop patio, and grounds.

The family has an existing restaurant in the area. We can’t tell you much more at this time, except that their existing restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has plenty of five star reviews 😀
