Meet the New CEO of Lane Regional Medical Center

Frank Corcoran, Jr., the new CEO of Lane Regional Medical Center, has hit the ground running since taking the helm in early 2025. A New Orleans native, Corcoran brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience and a 30-year background as a critical care nurse.
Despite the demands of his role, Corcoran prioritizes community involvement and getting to know the people of Zachary and the surrounding region. Whether he's attending weekly Rotary meetings, cutting the ribbon at Chamber events, or manning the chili pot at the Lane Foundation’s fundraiser, he’s a visible and approachable leader—one who shows up, listens, and leads with presence.
“I’m here for three things,” Corcoran says. “The patients, the staff, and the community.”
As part of Lane’s strategic priorities, Corcoran and the leadership team are focused on expanding not only the medical center’s physical footprint, but also its range of service lines in direct response to community needs. Areas of growth include teleneurology, telenephrology, vascular care, ENT, and behavioral health—each identified as high-priority based on the Community Health Needs Assessment. Corcoran emphasizes that expanding these services is essential to closing care gaps and ensuring Lane can continue to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community.
Corcoran’s three areas of focus—patients, staff, and community—overlap like a Venn diagram, with each area reinforcing the others to create a stronger, more resilient healthcare system. When patients receive high-quality, compassionate care, it’s a reflection of a well-supported and empowered staff. And when the community’s needs are heard and addressed, it fosters trust and engagement that benefit both patients and healthcare providers. Corcoran believes that true progress happens in the space where all three priorities intersect.Physically, that space is Lane Regional Medical Center’s new four-story patient tower, which is very near completion.
The second story of the tower is dedicated entirely to surgery and will feature a Mako robotic arm for orthopedic procedures, 14 ICU rooms, and four new operating suites equipped with advanced technology. These state-of-the-art facilities will provide surgeons with everything they need to perform safely and effectively, making Lane Regional Medical Center an attractive choice for specialists. By offering cutting-edge resources locally, the hospital aims to keep patients in Zachary—eliminating the need for long drives to Baton Rouge for complex surgeries.
The third and fourth floors of the tower are dedicated to inpatient care, with 48 new private, expansive patient rooms featuring large windows, walk-in showers, and even couches that convert to sleeper sofas with the push of a button.
With its expanded capabilities, modern amenities, and people-first leadership, Lane Regional Medical Center is positioning itself as the premier destination for healthcare in the region. Under Corcoran’s guidance, the hospital isn’t just growing—it’s transforming to meet the moment, with a steadfast commitment to healing, innovation, and community connection at every level.
