The Castello Family: Protecting Zachary’s Businesses and Families for Generations

Since 1982, the Castellos have been helping families and businesses thrive in Zachary. The Castello Agency offers property, casualty, life, and health insurance plans for both consumer and corporate customers. Founded by James Castello, the company has been instrumental in helping small businesses in the area find insurance that meets their needs.
"We insured small ventures when a lot of larger companies didn’t want to mess with them,” explains James. Many of those businesses became thriving parts of the Zachary community, in large part because of the support they received from the Castello Agency.
“I gave all new businesses that came to me the same advice: Get a good CPA, have a good lawyer to look over your contracts, and have good insurance.”
As Certified Insurance Counselors, first James and, now, his daughter-in-law Danette Castello know the industry inside and out and are experts at helping clients pick the best plans. Danette took over the business after James’ retirement, and continues his legacy of excellence.
“We won’t suggest someone get a plan with a no-name agency that just sprung up overnight,” says Danette, “We make sure that our clients are represented by companies with strong reputations.”
Both James and Danette have served as presidents of both the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. Their leadership in these organizations reflects their dedication to fostering local business growth, building strong professional networks, and maintaining the highest standards of service.
The Castello Agency’s decades of trust, expertise, and unwavering support for their clients has resulted in not only a strong reputation for themselves, but also a stronger Zachary.
