Lucy first came to Zachary Pet Supply from a local shelter while we were helping find loving homes for several kittens. One by one, they were adopted… but Lucy stayed. Because she isn’t much of a dog fan, finding the right forever home took a little longer.

As time passed and Lucy remained the last one waiting, we knew we didn’t want her spending her days in a kennel. So, we made a simple decision: Lucy could stay with us. We let her roam the store, and before we knew it, she’d claimed her role as part of the team.

These days, Lucy follows customers from aisle to aisle, greets them at the counter, taps the card machine, and places her paws on products as if she’s helping ring up purchases. She truly believes she’s on the payroll. Many customers now stop by just to visit her. Honestly, we don’t blame them.
